Useful Spanish phrases¶

A collection of phrases you may need in the GTC control room when observing with HiPERCAM.

General¶

Puedo means "can I", whilst Podemos means "can we".

Afternoon¶

Can we pump HiPERCAM?

¿Puedo/Podemos hacer el vacío en HiPERCAM?
I would like to take bias frames. Can we turn off the lights?

Voy/Vamos a tomar bias. ¿Puedo/Podemos apagar las luces de la cúpula?
I am going for dinner.

Me voy a cenar.

During the night¶

Can we move to a flat field?

¿Puedo/Podemos ir al campo blank?
The flats are finished.

Ya terminé/terminamos los flats.
Can we change to a new target?

¿Puedo/Podemos cambiar a otro objeto?

End of night¶

We are done for the night.

Ya terminé/terminamos (single/plural)
I am going to bed now, thank you.

Me voy/Nos vamos a la cama. Gracias por todo.
Sleep well.
