| exam (80%): |
This will be sometime in weeks 13-15, exact date, time and place to be
announced, and will be of 2 hours duration. You must answer
any 3 questions from a choice of 5 and hence you should aim to spend
spend approximately 40 minutes on each question.

| lab (20%): | This will take
place on Fridays at 2pm in weeks 8-11 in the astro lab
(E36). There will be 4 sessions, each of 3 hours duration, and you
will be required to submit a lab report on your work to the
departmental office (Hicks G12) at the end of week 12 (deadline:
Friday, Dec 20th 2013).
