teaching

I taught the courses below before I took a 5-year break from teaching from 2014 so that I could concentrate on building HiPERCAM using my ERC Advanced Grant. Since 2019, I have been teaching two final-year BSc/MPhys and MSc courses - Dark Matter and the Universe and The Origin of the Chemical Elements (aka Nuclear Astrophysics). The notes for these are on the Blackboard Ultra VLE at Sheffield. I run the Astronomy Field Trip to La Palma for our MPhys/MSc students each year, where we use our 0.5m telescope pt5m. I also administer the Year Abroad on La Palma scheme at Sheffield, giving our final-year MPhys Astrophysics students the opportunity to work as Support Astronomers for a year at the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes (ING).
