A SPECIALIST DISCUSSION MEETING ORGANISED BY:

VIK DHILLON (SHEFFIELD)
TOM MARSH (WARWICK)

The aim of this meeting, which approximately coincides with the 10th anniversary of first light with the high-speed camera ULTRACAM, is to assess the current state of the field in high time-resolution astrophysics in the optical part of the spectrum. Compact objects of all classes will be covered, including black holes, neutron stars, white dwarfs, brown dwarfs, exoplanets and the minor bodies of the Solar System. Both single and binary systems will be discussed and, in the case of binaries, both accreting and non-accreting systems. Some time will also be devoted to discussing future developments in high-speed instrumentation.

UPDATE ON 2013/04/15: Over 70 people attended the meeting, travelling from France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and from all over the UK. Many of the talks can now be viewed on-line from the Programme page. A report on the meeting will shortly be appearing in the RAS magazine Astronomy & Geophysics.
